PPA special election

Nominations open for two Eboard positions

Nominations for two Executive Board positions will be accepted at the next PPA General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 10. Open for election are the Secretary-Treasurer and VP Sergeants positions.

Since the Secretary-Treasurer and VP Sergeant have more than six months remaining in the original term of office, the PPA constitution requires that the vacant position be filled by election. The Eboard may appoint a member to fill the spot until the election is completed.

The Secretary-Treasurer elected will be completing Dave Dobler's term which ends October 31, 2011. Any member in good standing may be nominated and will be elected by the entire membership.

The VP Sergeant term, vacated with the retirement of Doug Justus, ends October 31, 2012. Any sergeant may be nominated and will be elected solely by sergeants.

Again, nominations will be made at the General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 10. The meeting begins at 1900 hours at the East Portland Community Center located at 706 SE 106th — across the street from East Precinct.

If you are unable to attend the General Meeting and wish to be nominated, call or email Daryl Turner no later than February 10, 2011.

ELECTION SCHEDULE:

  • February 10 - Nominations completed
  • March 2 - Ballots mailed
  • March 17 - Ballots due to Auditor's office
  • March 18 - Ballots counted, results announced
